📖 Story / Theme – Día de los Muertos

El Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is one of Mexico’s most celebrated cultural traditions. The festival honours departed loved ones through colourful altars, marigold flowers, sugar skulls, candles, and symbolic artwork that blend remembrance with celebration.

This release transforms the iconic Libertad design into a vivid tribute to Mexico’s artistic heritage and spiritual traditions.

🎨 Design Description

The reverse features the iconic Winged Victory statue standing before Mexico’s legendary volcanoes, enhanced with vibrant Día de los Muertos-inspired colourisation. The colourful detailing adds a festive and artistic dimension to the classic Libertad imagery.

The obverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms featuring an eagle perched on a cactus devouring a serpent, surrounded by historic versions of the national emblem and the inscription “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS”.

The Brilliant Uncirculated finish preserves the sharp detail and contrast of the original Libertad design while elevating its visual impact through colour enhancement.
