🎨 Design Description

🌙 Great Southern Land Nocturnal – An Australia-shaped natural matrix opal inlay is surrounded by an Australian Tiger Moth, Night Jar Owl, Australian Christmas Beetle, Marbled Gecko, Spotted Quoll, Night Parrot, Lead Beater Possum, Koala and Ghost Bat. A crescent moon, stars and Australian flora complete the nocturnal scene.

The design also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, weight, purity and 2026 year-date. As natural matrix opal varies in colour and pattern, each coin can display its own distinctive appearance. The obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of King Charles III.
